PILLAR: EDUCATION & SKILLS
Following completion of the second industry survey, we are working with the Education & Skills group (ESG) to write our joint white paper on the education and skills careers pathways for the cosmetic industry - particularly STEM-related. The aim is to launch this during SCS Formulate, where Dr Gill Westgate will give a presentation and we are hoping to have an article published in the media on this topic.
Gill and Jane have also been collaborating with the British Beauty Council who have launched a new film to inspire young people into a career in the industry.
We are also working with West Yorkshire Combined Authority skills and careers teams to help connect businesses in the cosmetic industry with schools, colleges and universities in the West Yorkshire region and raise the profile of the beauty industry as a career option for both creative and scientific roles.
