Naturiol was established in 2014 to exploit patented technologies for the extraction of useful chemicals from plants grown in the UK. One of our key projects is developing a supply chain from the farm for seed and oil from Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) producing suitable quality petroselenic acid, as its triglyceride and free fatty acid, for application in the cosmetic and food areas. Petroselenic Acid is known for its anti-ageing and anti-itch properties while the triglyceride has similar properties to palm oil for use in food etc with the added benefit of being based on a high melting point monounsaturated fatty acid. Naturiol seeks to connect with partners along the supply chain with particular emphasis on vegetable oil refining, testing for approval of cosmetic ingredients, specialty oil distribution and cosmetic formulations.
