Thursday, November 25, 2021 1.30pm to 3.30pm GMT
Webinar ‘Sustainable materials and ingredients in the cosmetics industry - opportunities and challenges’.
As many eyes have been focussing on Glasgow and the Cop 26 event, we are delighted to announce the first event in our collaboration with IBioIC, from Scotland, bringing together their members with our cosmetics industry network.
IBioIC supports companies in their innovation journey working across the bio-economy. IBioIC is a networking and support organisation that connects industry, academia and government to bring biotechnology processes and products to the global market. Membership of IBioIC provides companies with the tools needed to accelerate and de-risk this journey.
After an introduction by Dr Russell Clarke, Senior Business Engagement Manager, IBioIC, CCUK director, Jane Evison, will provide an overview of what is meant by sustainability from the consumer and brand perspective and discuss trends in the industry. She will introduce some of the perceived barriers to entry into the cosmetics market and ways to overcome them, and set the scene for a hurdle debunking panel. Speakers Harry McIlwraith of Full Circle, Clare Liptrot of Croda and Jo Chidley of Beauty Kitchen, will focus on sustainable cosmetics ingredients and packaging materials. There will then be an opportunity for IBioIC members to pitch their technology to the cosmetics sector. The webinar will be followed by networking on the Wonder platform.
